ARTE to Present New Street Art Movement based Game “Vandals” &

Multi-Nominated Exploration into Human Body “Homo Machina” in San Francisco

 

ARTE, the renowned European TV and digital network has been steadily building its video game portfolio co-producing experiences uniquely inspired by the arts across all mediums and sociopolitical issues. The games have been recognized for their unique visual identity and storytelling, garnering accolades and critical praise. Most recently, Bury me, my Love co-produced with The Pixel Hunt, and follows the perilous journey of a Syrian refugee told through instant-messages between a war torn husband and wife. The game won the Google Play Indie Game contest and the Developers Choice Award at IndieCade Europe. Bury me, my Love was also nominated for several awards including the esteemed The Game Awards, IndieCade US, the NY Video Game Awards and is a finalist in Game Developers Choice Awards at GDC next week.

 

Now the company seeks to deepen its commitment to interactive creations and will be presenting Homo Machina, developed by Darjeeling Productions at GDC as well as Game Connection, where the game is nominated for Best Story/Storytelling, Best Casual Game and Best Mobile/Tablet game. The game based on Dr. Fritz Kahn’s illustrations was most recently displayed at SXSW, where it was nominated for the “Gaming Gamer’s Voice” Award for best Mobile Game.

 

Additionally, Vandals which is developed for PC and Mobile by Cosmografik will be shown for the very first time during GDC. Created by a member of the street art movement, the game blends a stealth and painting game with iconic works from the legends.The indie developer’s first game Type:Rider, in which the history of typography is experienced in a platformer, has over 2 million downloads.
